EDP's Purpose
VISION
The
Economic Diversification Program (EDP) at the Center for Energy and Economic
Diversification (CEED) will be a catalyst for economic growth and job
creation in the Permian Basin in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico.
MISSION
The Economic Diversification Program (EDP), at
the Center for Energy and Economic Diversification (CEED) of The University
of Texas of the Permian Basin, is designed to help meet the needs of the
area, in providing jobs and maintaining a solid, long-term economic base.
The program uses the facilities and expertise of The University of Texas of
the Permian Basin and works in partnership with others to facilitate
regional economic development. Services provided include community
studies, economic data for the region, technical assistance, training,
workshops, grant facilitation, leadership facilitation and project design
and implementation for regional economic development partnerships.
This program partners with economic development agencies, communities, and
individuals working to diversify the employment base in West Texas and
southeastern New Mexico.
The EDP's primary functions are:
- Research
- Technical Assistance
- Grant Facilitation
- Workshops, Seminars, and Training Programs
- Response Consulting
- Other Projects as desired by the area
- Leadership
The
program utilizes the full
resource capabilities of the University, including the faculty, staff, computer resources,
and library facilities, for conducting the necessary consulting services and research
investigations associated with each technical assistance project. It
also has partnerships with other institutions to provide similar services. |
